midrash

let's say for a moment the body of Messiah is one body...has one faith, one Spirit, one baptism, one Father and one Master or L-rd...oh! of course, that's scriptural...His Word says that...
then let's say in the body of Messiah, there are apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelists and teachers set up for the equipping of said body...
then there's shepherds, elders and deacons for the spiritual care and overseeing of the body...and we can't forget the givers, the administrators, the hosts and hostesses, the ones who show mercy and the ones with words of exhortation, words of edification, those with prophetic words, words of wisdom and words of knowledge for those in the body of Messiah...
then there are those with the gift of healings, the gift of miracles, the gift of tongues and interpretation, the gift of prophecy and the gift of wisdom and knowledge and we can't forget those with the gift of discernment either...
and all of these people are planted in the body of Messiah, each gifted, called and anointed to function in the body and community of Messiah...
yet do they?
yet...do we???
as we all ponder these biblical truths, i will continue my thoughts at a later time because i have an appointment to get to!
shalom!

The Blood of Messiah Yeshua

Mat 9:9 And going away from there, Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach (Yeshua/Jesus)saw a man called Mattityahu sitting in the tax office. And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach (Yeshua/Jesus)says to him, Follow me. And Mattityahu arose and followed him.

Mat 9:10 And it came about that while Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach (Yeshua/Jesus)was sitting bimesibba (reclining) at tish (table) in the bais, hinei! Many mochesim (tax collectors) and choteim (sinners) came and were sitting bimesibba (reclining) at tish (table) with Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach (Yeshua/Jesus)and his talmidim (disciples - limmud).

Mat 9:11 When the Perushim (Pharasees)saw this, they were saying to Moshiach's talmidim, Why does your Rebbe eat with the mochesim and the choteim?

Mat 9:12 But when Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach (Yeshua/Jesus)heard this, he said, It is not the bariim (healthy ones) who have need of a rofeh (physician), but the cholim.

Mat 9:13 Go and learn what this means: CHESED CHAFATZTI VLO ZEVACH (I desire loving kindness and not sacrifice HOSHEA 6:6), for I have not come to call the tzaddikim (righteous)but the choteim (sinners) [to teshuva] (repentance).

Mat 9:14 Then Yochanan's (John) talmidim approached Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach, saying, Why do we and the Perushim often undergo tzomot (fasts), but your talmidim do not undergo tzomot?

Mat 9:15 And Moshiach said to them, Surely the Bnei HaChuppah (wedding invitees) are not able to act as avelim (mourners) as long as the Choson (Bridegroom, i.e., Moshiach) is with them. But the days will come when the Choson is taken away from them, and then they will undergo tzomot.

Mat 9:16 No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch pulls away from the garment, and a worse tear results.

Mat 9:17 Neither do men put yayin chadash (new wine) into old wineskins; otherwise, the wineskins burst, and the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they pour yayin chadash into new wineskins, and both are preserved.

shalom!
after meditating and studying this scripture, in its context, if Yeshua is saying to His body "we can't put new wine into old wineskins," then i believe, according to His Word, He is saying there are still those in the body who haven't received Him, they haven't been cleansed by His blood and they haven't done teshuva.

they are still in the category of tax collectors, sinners, sick and unhealthy - what i mean by folks "still wearing their grave clothes" - still dead and not set free...and perhaps sitting in the same pew as you week after week after week...

when people pretend or act as if they know Messiah, there will be a lot of tearing, bursting, spilling and ruining that will follow. if Yeshua's blood hasn't cleansed a man, He can't pour Himself into the man...and that's the kicker!

spilled blood is blood that has been wasted...shed blood is blood that has been invested in whomever receives it!

has Messiah Yeshua's blood been spilled around you or shed over you?

blessings and signing off...
