how we must test ourselves...

Act 17:11  But these Bereans were more noble-minded than the Thessalonians. The Berean Yehudim received the dvar Hashem with all readiness, yom yom (daily) making a chazora (review) and examining and horiva over (analyzing) (testing) the Kitvei HaKodesh, to see if these things might be so. [Dt 29:29]
Act 17:12  Therefore, many of them became Messianic Jews, and also of the chashuve Yevanim, not a few nashim and anashim came to emunah...

(Act 17:11 And these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, for they received the Word with all readiness, daily examining the Scriptures if these things are so.
Act 17:12 And many of them believed; and so likewise of the Greeks, many men, and notable women.)

(Deu 29:29 The secret things belong to YAHWEH our Elohim; and the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may do all the Words of this Torah...)

2Co 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Or do you not yourselves realize that Yeshua Messiah is in you? If this is not true than you are rejected.

1Jn 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are from YAHWEH; for many false prophets have gone forth into the world.

בּחן baw-khan' A primitive root; to test (especially metals); generally and figuratively to investigate: - examine, prove, tempt, try (trial).
נסה naw-saw' A primitive root; to test; by implication to attempt: - adventure, assay, prove, tempt, try.

1. we daily search and test Scripture

2. we test ourselves, whether or not we are walking in the faith with Messiah Yeshua inside of us

3. we test the spirits

Why YHVH tests us...

Exo 16:4 And YAHWEH said to Moses, Behold, I AM will rain bread from the heavens for you. And the people shall go out and gather the matter of a day in its day, so that I may test them, whether they will walk in My Torah or not.

Exo 20:20 And Moses said to the people, Do not be afraid, for Elohim has come in order to test you, and so that His fear may be on your faces, that you may not sin.

Deu 13:3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams. For YAHWEH your Elohim is testing you, to know if you love YAHWEH your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul.

Jdg 2:22 so that by them I may test Israel, whether they are keeping the way of YAHWEH, to go in it, as their fathers kept it, or not.

Jdg 3:1 And these are the nations which YAHWEH left in order to test Israel by them, all who did not know all the wars of Canaan;
Jdg 3:2 only that the generations of the sons of Israel might know, to teach them war, only those who did not before know them:
Jdg 3:3 five lords of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hivites that lived in Mount Lebanon from Mount Baal-Hermon to the entering of Hamath.
Jdg 3:4 And they existed to test Israel by them, to know whether they would listen to the commands of YAHWEH, which He had commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.

2Ch 32:31 Even so with the envoys of the rulers of Babylon, those sent to him to inquire of the wonder that had been in the land, The Elohim left him to test him, to know all his heart.

Psa 66:10 For You, O Elohim, have proved us; You have tested us as silver is refined.

1Co 10:13 No temptation has taken you except what is human; but YAHWEH is faithful, who will not allow you to be tested above what you are able. But with the trial, He will also make the way out, so that you may be able to bear it.

1Pe 4:12 Beloved, do not be astonished at the fiery trial happening among you for your testing, as if a surprise were occurring to you;
1Pe 4:13 but rejoice, that you participate in the sufferings of the Messiah, that so you may also rejoice and exult at the revelation of his glory.
