take the following portion for example - rav sha'ul tells it like it is...
Elohim (G-d) is the Master of Heaven and Earth, has made everything in both and doesn't dwell in any temple that's been hand-made...or man-made...hmmm...camp there for a minute...
he goes on to say that Elohim has no need for anything either, and the very breath we all have, is a gift from HIM...
what spoke to me is vs. 26, because, we, as humanity, must always remember, we come from ONE blood - in order to inquire and search after Elohim, because He is not afar off of any of us! (which is simply another way of saying He is near to us at all times!) then He goes on to say we live and move and have our very existence in and through Him as His children!
in verses 30 and 31, rav sha'ul tells us it's the time for true repentance because Elohim has already "set the day" in which He will judge each of us through Messiah Yeshua and get ready, because He also says Elohim has ALREADY turned every man, which means "everyone" - mankind/humanity/all peoples of heaven and earth to have faith!
and the resurrection of Messiah Yeshua is the proof, and as always...there are opposite camps...
some ridicule...some want to hear more...some believe...some follow...
the question for each of us as we read this is -
what camp are you in???
Act 17:23 For as I
was rambling about and looking up at the objects of your worship, I also found
an altar on which had been written, TO THE HIDDEN ELOHIM. Not knowing, then,
whom you worship, I make Him known to you.
Act 17:24 The Elohim
who made the world and all things in it, this One being Master of Heaven and of
Earth, does not dwell in handmade temples.
Act 17:25 Nor is
served by hands of men, as having need of anything. For He is giving life and
breath and all things to all.
Act 17:26 And He made
every nation of men of one blood, to live on all the face of the earth,
ordaining fore-appointed seasons and boundaries of their dwelling,
Act 17:27 that they
might inquire and search after Elohim, and, by means of his creation, might
find him; because he is not afar off from each one of us:
Act 17:28 For in Him
we live and move and exist, as also some of the poets among you have said, For
we are also His offspring.
Act 17:29 Then man
being of the offspring and family of YAHWEH, we ought not to suppose that the
Sovereign Deity is like gold or silver or stone, engraved by art and the
imagination of man.
Act 17:30 Truly,
then, Elohim overlooking the times of this ignorance, but now strictly commands
all men everywhere to repent,
Act 17:31 because He
set a day in which "He is going to judge all the earth with
righteousness," by the Man whom He has chosen; and He turned every man to
have faith in Him, in that He raised Him from the dead. (Psa. 9:8)
Act 17:32 And hearing
of a resurrection of the dead, some indeed ridiculed, but said, We will hear
you again concerning this.
Act 17:33 And so Paul
went out from their midst.
Act 17:34 But some
men believed, joining themselves to him, among whom also were both Dionysius
the Areopagite and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.
