Scripture always tells a clear story - and is like a tapestry...
Rav Sha'ul, (apostle paul) was a studied and learned Jew, a Pharisee, from the tribe of Benjamin - he was a student of the great sages and rabbis of that day - and he started out persecuting followers of Messiah...
the following verses show us a pattern of what it is to be called and chosen to follow Y'Hovah, and as you will see, it isn't for the fair in heart, and it isn't easy...
suffering is something we must go through for the sake of Y'Hovah's Name; it precedes being glorified one day in and through Messiah; it is something "granted" to us by Abba; it is a clear token of Y'Hovah's justice and judgment and precedes us being counted worthy of His Kingdom...
please read on and decide for yourself the path of suffering...
Act
9:15 And the Master Y'HOVAH said to him, Go, for this one is a chosen vessel to Me, to bear My name before nations
and kings and the sons of Israel.
Act
9:16 For I will show him how much he
must suffer for the
sake of My Name...
Rom
8:17 And if children, also heirs; truly heirs of Y'HOVAH, and joint heirs of
Messiah, if indeed we suffer together, that
we may also be glorified together...
Php
1:27 Only behave yourself worthily of the good news of Messiah, so that whether
coming and seeing you or whether I am far away, I may hear of your good
conduct, that you stand fast in one
spirit and one soul, triumphing
together in the faith of the good news,
Php
1:28 and not being terrified in anything
by our adversaries, whose conduct is the sign of their own destruction, but
to your salvation, and this from Y'HOVAH;
Php
1:29 because it was granted to you on behalf of Messiah
not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer on His behalf...
2Th
1:3 Brothers, we are bound to give thanks to Y'HOVAH always concerning you,
even as it is right, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each
one of you multiplies toward one another,
2Th
1:4 so as for us to boast ourselves in
you in the Congregations of Y'HOVAH for your patience and faith in all your
persecutions, and the afflictions which you endure,
2Th
1:5 a clear token of the just judgment of Y'HOVAH, for you to be counted worthy of the kingdom of Y'HOVAH,
for which you indeed suffer;
2Th
1:6 since it is a just thing with Y'HOVAH
to pay back tribulation to those oppressing you,
2Th
1:7 and to give you, those being
oppressed, relief with us at the revelation of the Master Y'Shua from
Heaven with the host of His cherubs,
2Th
1:8 in flaming fire giving full
vengeance to those not knowing Y'HOVAH, and to those not obeying the good news of our Master Y'Shua Messiah,
(Isa. 66:15; Jer. 10:25)
2Th
1:9 For these at the judgment day will
be recompensed with eternal destruction, from the presence of our Master,
and from the glory of his power; (Isa. 2:19)...
2Ti
1:7 For Y'HOVAH did not give a spirit of
cowardice to us, but of power and of love and of good discipline.
2Ti
1:8 Then do not be ashamed of the
testimony of our Master, nor of me, His prisoner. But suffer
hardship with the good news,
according to the power of Y'HOVAH,
2Ti
1:9 the One having saved us and having called us with a holy calling, not
according to our works, but according to
His own purpose and grace given to us in Messiah Y'Shua before the world
began,
2Ti
1:10 but now revealed through the appearance of our Savior, Y'Shua Messiah,
indeed making death of no effect, bringing life and immortality to light
through the good news,
2Ti
1:11 for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle and a teacher of nations.
2Ti
1:12 For which cause I also suffer these things. But
I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that He
is able to guard my deposit until that Day.
2Ti
1:13 Let this example of sound words
which you heard from me abide in you, in faith and love in Messiah Y'Shua.
2Ti
1:14 Guard the good Deposit given
through the Holy Spirit indwelling in us.
2Ti
2:3 Then you suffer hardship as a good soldier of Y'Shua
Messiah...
2Ti
4:5 But you be clear-minded in all, suffer hardship, do the
work of an evangelist, and fulfill your ministry...
Jas
5:13 Does anyone suffer ill among you? Let him pray. Is
anyone cheerful? Let him praise in song...
1Pe
3:8 And, finally, let all live in harmony, that ye be sympathetic with them who suffer,
and affectionate one to another, and be merciful and kind...
1Pe
3:14 But if you truly suffer because of
righteousness sake, you are blessed. "and be not afraid of those who
terrify you, neither be disturbed...
1Pe
3:17 For it is better, if it is the will
of Y'HOVAH, to suffer
for doing good deeds rather than for doing evil...
1Pe
4:19 Wherefore, let them who suffer according to the
will of Y'HOVAH, commit their souls to him in well doing, as to a faithful
Creator...
